A Year of Blogging: Day 13

Standard

Q: Do you more often feel that life is too short or too long?

A: Neither.

I don’t see long or short. I see time. Time goes fast. The world keeps spinning. There is no pause button. There is no way to preserve time, so we instead come up with phrases like life is too short or life is too long, neither of which actually mean our life isn’t long enough or our life is dragging on. It simply means time is going too fast or too slow, but that’s just our perception. Time doesn’t go faster or slower depending on the day. Time is constant, it never changes speed, it never changes consistency, hell it’s not even really there. Time is something we created to keep track of our day, to understand solar patterns, to have something there that we can count on because it’s never going to go away. It’s all our perception of time, not time itself. Life is not too short or too long, instead, life is just life and we’re just living it. Time after time.
